Hello! My name is Tim Lyons. My background is in three areas: church ministry, education, and organizational health. Within those domains, I helped a startup Catholic school in Silicon Valley grow from 43 to 295 students, doing everything from teaching middle-schoolers to capital campaigning. My joy there was building morale, because intuitively I knew that happy students and teachers are successful children and colleagues. I have worked for a friend and mentor, Patrick Lencioni, author of 12 best-selling books such as The Five Dysfunctions of a Team and The Advantage. As a lifelong avid reader, I have found no better methodology and resource for creating healthy teams and culture than his. I have a M.A in Educational Leadership from the University of Notre Dame's Mary Ann Remick Leadership Program. More important than the degree and principal's licensure I received, I met a network of truly amazing and inspirational school leaders from around the country. I have an enormous debt to them and to Notre Dame! I have mentored and coached thousands of people, am empathetic and strive to always add value, rooted in my Working Genius' of Wonder and Enablement (cf. www.workinggenius.com)
I love schools. I run another coaching and consulting business for companies in the for-profit world (cf. www.timlyonsconsulting.com). I have mentored and coached thousands of people, am empathetic and helpful in sorting through their ideals and hopes, attitudes and feelings, in order to help people manage crosswords by making solid decisions.
I am blessed to know dozens of amazing educators. Some of them are experts in the "smartside" of schools, such as curriculum development. Some of us are experts in the cultural and long-term mission, vision and branding of schools. Some of them have agreed to partner with me in making Smart and Healthy Schools. Our experience has been in Catholic, Christian and charter schools, but we know how to build up the culture of any school, and coach school leaders.
